Christmas in Connecticut

4 guys before  Danny snow  Jack  Ryan  Fam tree  4 guys tree Every year since we moved here, we go to Jones tree farm to cut down our tree.  Last Sunday it snowed.  When I think of chopping down a Christmas tree this is what I think of.  This is the first time it actually happened (for us anyway)  It was so awesome, we loved it.  We found the perfect tree about half way up the mountain.  It took John, Jack and Ryan about 15 minutes to cut it down.  The boys slid down the hill while John dragged the tree.  We paid $60 and went home to decorate. 3 boys

Happy Birthday Jack!

At 3:46 am Jack turned 12.   J locker He came into our room at 6 and said he had been up since 4.  At 7, he  woke everyone up with his singing frog that sings "Hey shorty it's your birthday, we're gonna party like it's your birthday."  He was so excited. We were trying to figure out what's so great about turning 12, finally we realized he couldn't wait to open his presents.  He thinks this has been the best day.  We gave him a video game that he's been dying for for 2 years and a USC hat and sweatshirt, sorry Mannie.  It's all about football, he thinks he's going to play there one day.  Jack you're such a great kid and we totally love you to pieces!!!!    The rest of the day was sort of productive, I cleaned and John put up most of the lights outside.  We are so behind, I can't believe Christmas is in 12 days.  I haven't even gotten wreaths yet.  Anyway, we just got back from hibachi and now it's time for bed, just kidding, sort of.  I'm very tired and I have too much to do.   I will post our pictures of cutting down the Christmas tree tomorrow.  Have a good night!

Thanksgiving week.....

This past week was awesome!  We started it off in Stamford for the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, it is the second largest next to Macy's.  We go every year, sit in the same spot and have a great time.  This year however, WAS FREEZING.  It was probably 30 tops and with the wind, it was just so cold.  Ryan was crying after awhile- to be honest I don't blame him. We get to the parade almost 2 hours before it starts and then it lasts about 2 hours.  I learned a big lesson, I should have brought more blankets that are actually thick for warmth.  Oh well, next time I'll know.  Anyway, then on Tuesday the second grade at my school holds their own Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.  We each made 4 floats, my class' themes were outerspace, Peter Pan, China and Tom Turkey.  I loved every minute of it, it was so cute.  Their floats were awesome!! Then we were off on Wednesday, which I really hope they continue to give  us every year, it was great having 5 days off.  On Thursday we went to my parents house, (I'll post those pictures later- they're on my other cam.)  Friday we decorated for Christmas, had a fire and cleaned.  I put up my Christmas tree(with my million dollar ornaments- long story, maybe I'll tell another time) and all the pictures and knick knacks.  In 2 weeks(on Jack's bday) we'll get the real one. On Sat.-we tried to finish the leaves and we took our Christmas picture.  Yay, I'm so glad that is done.  I'm VERY behind, usually my pictures are going out in the mail the day after Thanksgiving.  Anyway, John was going to finish the driveway area today, but it snowed!!  We didn't even know it was going to.  So... I went to Freda's- did report cards, came home and watched the GIANTS win again!!!  I will post more pictures later, the computer isn't letting me.Danny turkey work  The crowd  Mr potato head

And Halloween....

One more from Halloween night.4 hallowe

Hooray for the weekend!

I couldn't wait for today.  This week was a little long, I just wanted to sleep in, however I still woke up at 5:30 and just layed there, I couldn't fall back.  Oh well.  Krista and I went to the Westport crafts fair and then up to Fairfield to shop at Old Navy and eat at Einstein bagels.  It was so nice to just hang out.  It's been hard since I went back to work.   I never see anyone anymore.  When I got home I took Ryan to basketball and now we're waiting for dinner to be ready.  My mom brought her crock pot for us to use, dinner is not something I like to eat or make.  Meanwhile it's John's favorite meal of the day.  Poor guy, thank God he likes to cook.  It is absolutely freezing today.  I hate it already.   Tomorrow we're going to the Stamford Thanksgiving day parade, it's like a mini Macy's Thanksgiving parade.  We love to go, I just hope it's not too cold.  Here's those extra pictures that were supposed to be with the last post.  3 pumpkin patch  Bartonbus

Finally a chance to breath.....

Hello, I thought I would finally update.  I haven't had a minute.  I started back to work teaching 2nd  grade, the boys had football and now we're starting basketball.  Anyway, here's a bunch of pictures of our fall fun.  We always get our pumkins at Stew Leonard's  3 HUGE pumpkins for $18.  You can't beat that. They also have a cute spooky hay ride that the kids love.  We also go to Barton Orchards each year with our friends the DeRienzo's and finally some Halloween pictures.Img_4953.jpg  Img_4947.jpg  I will re post the rest of my pictures, they aren't coming out.  And these pictures are gigantic.  This makes me crazy.
